Lavender eyes
Born out of bushes; the pupils
Dilate and rise
Like two Eastern suns in tandem
Caught in that colourful waltz
They photosynthesise.

These lavender eyes
Trace lights with effervescent
Coolness; the pale coat-tails
Let love and joy pour through
A heart like soft cheesecloth.
These names boil off the top.

At the going down of the sun
And in the morning; all is one.
Purple pockets, these eyes, entwined
Around a central stem,
They settle down like birds on a wire.
A good night’s sleep for the weary and tired.
