The Other Room is an online creative community showcasing new work and encouraging experimentation and collaboration. We’re looking for submissions in the following categories:
Poetry – Anything goes really.
Stories – All kinds of storytelling: short fiction; brief impressions; excerpts from longer works; even excerpts from plays or screenplays.
Essays – All non-fiction: culture and creativity; spirituality and wellbeing; politics and philosophy. These are just a few examples, but we’re leaning away from journalistic pieces such as reviews and interviews, as we feel these are pretty much covered elsewhere.
Art and photography – Drawings, paintings, photographs; all things visual. Just make sure to send high-quality scans if possible.
Please submit all files to our Submissions Dropbox, found by clicking here.
Please make sure file names contain your full name so we can keep track, and if possible, compress multiple files in a zip to make it more manageable.
We encourage you include a small bio with your submission - feel free to promote any relevant work within.
We aim to view and assess all incoming submissions within a week and will inform you by email if your work is selected for publication.
